The Build Menu.

Buildings are stationary buildable objects that can be built on individual pixels of owned territory.

Description

They are one of the two types of objects which can be created in exchange for Gold, the other being Units. The build menu can be opened by right-clicking and selecting the yellow wrench icon or ctrl+left-clicking on the map. Some buildings have specific requirements that limit where they can be built. For example, Ports must be built near water.

There are two types of Buildings:

  • Military Buildings (Square-shaped icons)
  • Economic Buildings (Round-shaped icons)

Acquiring

Creation

Buildings can be created by using gold. This is achieved either by using the appropriate building shortcut, or by using the build menu, which can be opened by right clicking on your territory and selecting the yellow wrench icon, or by CTRL + left clicking.

Conquering

All buildings apart from Defense Posts are transferred to the conquering player, if the territory they are on changes owners.

Losing

Conquering

All buildings apart from Defense Posts are transferred to the conquering player, if the territory they are on changes owners. You can capture these buildings back if you conquer the territory back. Defense Posts get destroyed outright, unless they were in the process of being built.

Destruction

Players can choose to destroy their own buildings voluntarily. This is done by right clicking on the building and selecting the red X icon.

As of v26.17, destruction takes 30 seconds, and there is a cooldown of 30 seconds between initiating a new destruction, effectively meaning that you can only destroy one building at a time.

The owner cannot stop a building's destruction once it has started. If the building's territory gets conquered, the destruction is automatically stopped.

Nukes

Nukes will destroy all buildings within their explosion radius.

Players can also nuke their own land to bypass the 30 second destruction timer and destroy their own buildings quickly.

Cost

All buildings cost Gold, unless the Infinite Gold Setting is enabled. For most buildings, their cost scales with the amount of that building owned. See each building's article for specifics.
